Michele's theme of black and cream gave Kath the idea of evening wear, so one side of her blade represented an evening shirt and the other the lace on an evening dress.  Kath's contribution to Jenny's fan-theme of anything needlework related, got her thinking along the lines of notions and red-work embroidery.  And for Jan's Oriental theme Kath was really creative and made an exquisite miniature folded origami-style kimono on one side of the fan and used an oriental symbol on the reverse side.  This challenge is proving to be very inspiring with other members looking forward to setting up more groups to take part.  Michele used some of her silk ribbon embroidery on both her fan blades, gold on black for Kath's Spanish theme, and terracotta and peach for Jan's Oriental theme.  Jan's blades for the other three participants are now finished and shown below, and the ladies will now make their own two blades and construct their very individual fans to complete this project.
