Rust Dyeing Gallery

The "rust" collage was made as part of the distance workshop "Textured Surfaces" and involved dipping the stitched piece in caustic soda and tea amongst other ingredients.  The effects were amazing.  The other pieces are tyvek which was treated in the same way, then a heat gun was used to distort them.  Some gilding and wax colour has been added.  The lower photo shows some additional tyvek pieces after dipping before heat distressing.
