Hello, my name is Helen.

I used to paint occasionally, but on discovering the joys of embroidery I realised this was my medium and I did not pick a paintbrush again in the style of my paintings.

I use freestyle and work to my own designs using cotton, silk and metallic threads.

In the UK I embroidered every day and exhibited and sold my work, but on moving to Riogordo in 2003 I found very difficult to settle into my sewing and needed the incentive to get going again.  I was also missing the company of fellow stitchers, so I was thrilled to discover a group of people with similar interests.
