After three years in the making Helen breathed a sigh of relief as she put the final stitch into this lovely Bird in Autumn project. Helen says it normally takes her about eight months from starting the design process to finishing the picture, but since living in Spain she hasn't been able to settle into her work as easily as she did in the UK (she says it's possibly something to do with having her husband Tim home all day!) Had Helen not found Viñuela Sew and Sews, she thinks she may not have got stitching again as her routine and way of life has changed so much, but with the encouragement and support of group members it gave her the impetus she needed to continue her work, although at times Helen was discouraged by just how long it was taking to get the piece completed. The picture really has to be seen in "the flesh" to appreciate the incredible skill and exquisite stitch detail. The picture will be amongst others on display at our exhibition later this year.
