I specialised in appliqué whilst working and organising a workroom at Designer's Guild in Chelsea. Working professionally here we had to make loose covers, tablecloths, curtains, swags, festoon blinds, napkins etc., all with signature appliqué added. Some of us, there were five in all, were better at one thing and others at another and forte proved to be the appliqué work. I still make cushion covers as I enjoy the work.
