Tulips Charity Quilt 2010

We have borrowed and modified the design and layout of a quilt from Dawn Cameron-Dick for one of our charity quilts this year, which will be raffled at our autumn exhibition.  A lovely fabric range has been found for the tulips, which had a colour graded from light to dark across the width of the fabric, meaning that no two tulips would be exactly the same in any block.  The Seminole sashing sets off the tulips well against their cream on cream background.  Variegated embroidery thread has been used to machine-appliqué the flower wreaths and it is intended to quilt the background with stipple free-motion quilting.  Work is progressing and photo's of the work will be published as the quilt grows.
If you are interested in buying raffle tickets for either this quilt or the Dhaka quilt or indeed any of the other intended prizes, please contact me via the email address on the CONTACT US page.

The sashing and blocks are now joined

As can be seen in the photos, the stipple quilting is complete now, and part of the borders too.
