| Charity Quilt 2009 |
This year's charity quilts were made from recycled fabrics and presented to Cudeca for their Christmas raffle.
The following is from Joyce Munns on behalf of Cudeca:
"Sorry it's taken me a long time to tell you about the quilt you kindly made for Cudeca, but the raffle has finally been drawn. We sold tickets for several months and drew it at our dance last Saturday. Pat, the lady who made the bag for the quilt, happened to be there so we got her to draw the winning ticket. It's like history repeating itself, as the winner was a member of the Fellowship of the King church, where we hold dance classes. He promptly gave the the quilt to the church to be raffled again for much needed funds, just like my husband John did for Mike Springthorpe when he won your large quilt (at the Viñuela Sew & Sews Exhibition in 2008). Anyway a big thankyou to all the Sew & Sews who helped make the quilt. We presented Cudeca with 500Euros this morning (22nd February 2010) and the manager was overwhelmed. I'll try to let you know how much additional money is raised by the church" |
