| Charity Quilt 2008 |
The quilt below was made to be raffled for local charities and the winner was picked at our first Group Exhibition. The stylised flowers were designed by group member Helen Bush and various group members appliquéd and embellished the twenty blocks. Another member, Kim assembled the blocks and Rachel added the borders. The quilt top was then layered up with wadding and backing in one of our group meetings and group member Isy took the sandwich home to machine quilt in-the- ditch, after which Ann then added the binding and Rachel made and stitched on the quilt label. The quilt was presented to the winner as seen below, by Juan Millan, Mayor of Vinuela, in the Mancomunidad Centre in Torre del Mar. Also shown are four of the charity Anne-Axarquia beneficiaries, proudly displaying our donation cheque. |
