Michelle "la Caoba" ( www.flamencotriana.com ) pictured in the cream and pink dress, and black dress, is a regular dancer and teacher at Flamenco Fusion, a bar restaurant in Torrox Costa, where we had our summer end of term outing this year. After our three course meal and a glass of bubbly we were treated to three different performances by la Caoba, and were then invited to stay on for a special performance by the internationally renowned Omayra Amaya, (the daughter of Olga and Curro Amaya and grandniece of arguably the greatest Flamenco dancer who ever lived, Carmen Amaya). She performed to the accompaniment of her husband on guitar and Curro Cuetola caoba the bar owner, also a renowned flamenco singer. Omayra is in Spain for one month only while she teaches master classes in Flamenco in Malaga. You might like to check out her website www.omayraamaya.com to read about this amazing dancer. Everyone who attended really enjoyed the evening, and some are returning this week with friends to see the performances again.
